Don’t carry your unfinished writing project through another summer
Breakthrough Summer
A 2-week bootcamp for ADHD writers
Make enough progress in the first two weeks of summer that you can enjoy July and August without that constant feeling that you “should” be writing.
June 22 – July 3 • Breakthrough Summer • Let’s kick off your summer together
Does this sound (uncomfortably) familiar?
- At the end of every day last summer, you told yourself: "It didn't happen today, but I'll write tomorrow"
- You want this year to be different
- You have a project that's been waiting for months
- When you're meeting someone, you show up. But you never really make time for yourself.
- You're worried that in September, you'll have to admit you failed – again.
I have a confession to make...
I’m the person who helps ADHD writers structure their summers before they completely get away from them. I know exactly how unscheduled time starts out looking like freedom and ends up feeling like guilt.
But two summers ago, I fell right into the trap myself. I kept saying, “I’ll have time for that this summer” about 1001 projects, until I ended up with a list I’d never be able to complete. And the writing never happened.
That’s when I realized: knowing about the trap isn’t enough. The structure has to be built in.
So I decided to build exactly what I wish I’d had.
– Susanne
Breakthrough Summer is for...
If this makes you nod yes:
- You’re tired of fighting your brain every time you try to write
- You have a writing project you'd really like to make progress on this summer
- You care too much about this project to keep hoping you'll get to it eventually
- You feel your (suspected) ADHD makes it hard to be productive
- You know you do better when you work alongside other people
- You're ready to show up – not perfectly, but with intention
- You'd love to have some weeks free of writing-guilt this summer
Breakthrough Summer was meant for you.
Probably not your time:
- You think it might be nice to write a book someday — but you don't have a specific project yet
- You want someone to finally bully you into being disciplined
- You have ten other plans for those two weeks and want to squeeze this in on the side
- You'd rather keep ignoring the effects of ADHD on your writing practice
This might be better for you when your ideas are a little bit further along.

Community can help from Day 1
Someone I worked with had been writing her novel for thirty years. She wrote bits here and there, and had ended up with a collection of fragments.
She joined her first body doubling session skeptical it would help. Ninety minutes later, she had a number of pages that surprised her. And the quality?
“Possibly the best I have ever written straight off without edits,” she told me.
One session. The first she ever tried.
That is the power of writing in a community of ADHD writers.

Can’t imagine having completed the novel’s third draft without Susanne
As a writer with a late mid-life ADHD diagnosis, I was relieved and horrified to understand why my passion for writing seemed like a curse, as I struggled for decades, seldom achieving goals I set for myself. After a couple of years of behavioral training and meds, I needed something more to further increase my… Read more “Can’t imagine having completed the novel’s third draft without Susanne”
