Most people would think the last thing I would need help with is writing. I’ve written words that have sent environmental stories viral around the world. I can do high-rhetoric speeches; one line in a media release that reframes a political narrative for everyone; and complicated yet coherent, no-holds-barred yet nuanced, policy submissions written the night before the due date without raising a sweat. But in between the bouts of incredible productivity, I would get stuck and unable to deliver.
Having a million coherent and interesting stories inside you but not being able to get them out sucks. Not being able to say to someone, “Yeah I can get that done by next Thursday” and believing you will actually get it done, also sucks. The ADHD communities’ understanding of ADHD has expanded 10-fold in the last 5 years so I figured it would only be a matter of time before someone addressed the ADHD and writer’s block issue. That’s why I kept googling.
Then, I came across this ADHD writer’s coach called Susanne. I am quite reluctant to let you all know how effective her help has been. She’s basically the genius of ADHD writing and at helping you see the little tweaks you can make in how you go about the whole writing process. She helps turn the daunting into manageable and the barrier of shame and failure into curiosity. She can connect the neurology and psychology of ADHD with the practical steps you need to overcome all the obstacles you know you had – and the ones you are yet to learn about. Honestly, I don’t want to tell you how authentic, credible, insightful, helpful and grounded Susanne is as an ADHD writer’s coach because when more people find this out, she’ll become too busy and too expensive and I won’t be able to afford her or fit into her schedule ever again.
But if you are looking for help in this area, and aren’t sure who to get help from, you couldn’t go wrong with Susanne.
