These are some of the books I’m most proud to have worked on. They are organized by the type of service I offered their authors: series editing, book editing, and book proposal consultancy.

From Fighting To Thriving
Jess Garza contacted me in November 2021, for help with her book proposal. She sent me her manuscript, resumé and social media profiles, and that’s all I needed to get to work on the proposal for her fantastic book From Fighting To Thriving: 9 Relationship Hacks to Create the Relationship you’re Seeking.

Sermons on the Couch
In 2021, Cindy Gentry asked for my help with her book proposal for Sermons on the Couch: A Year of Inspirational Reflection. Her book is a fantastic resource for both religious and secular readers who are looking for daily inspiration. Her book is amazing. However, she had some trouble expressing in her proposal just how amazing Sermons would be. That’s why I was happy to give her feedback on how to lift the proposal to the next level.

Deep Doubt, Deep Wisdom
Katrina Hahling, the author and publisher, hired me to edit her book Deep Doubt, Deep Wisdom: Overcoming doubt and insecurity to create success. When she approached me, I couldn’t be more excited. This is an amazing book, with chapter contributions by some incredibly powerful women. I’m so honored to have been a part of the book’s journey!

Creosote Rain
One of my most exciting projects of 2023 was the developmental edit of Joe Makston’s memoir Creosote Rain: A carnival kid’s quest for home, family, and belonging. The purpose of this developmental edit was to improve the book’s structure in such a way that it would be easier to read for his ideal audiences. This is the story of how we made that happen.

Wizards: David Duke, America’s Wildest Election, and the Rise of the Far Right
Brian Fairbanks had written a book proposal for his nonfiction book “Wizards,” but wanted someone to give him feedback. He wanted to give the proposal the best chance it could get. And that is something I love doing!

Gender Violence, the Law, and Society
Gender Violence, the Law, and Society: Interdisciplinary Perspectives from India, Japan and South Africa was my passion project for the longest time. It’s when I worked on this book that I first started thinking about how to change the world of publishing. This book allowed me to be creative, organized and conscientious – all of which I love. And I really think it shows!

Interdisciplinary Essays on Monsters and the Monstrous
From writing the book proposal, to selecting the authors, to writing the front and back matter to editing the index and every chapter in this book: I worked hard in every phase on the road to getting this beautiful book published. It is still my baby and I couldn’t be prouder of this amazing volume on how monsters and monstrosity are used the world over for political and social purposes.

Rocking the Boat
Paul Wilson told his impressive story about his life as a black police man and advocate in his brilliant memoir Rocking the Boat: A Superintendent’s 30 Year Career Fighting Institutional Racism. I feel so honored to have been part of his entire journey: from writing the book proposal, to editing book chapters, to even being consulted during the promotion part of his publication journey!
